Why should you donate to charities?
Donations are very important to charities. Many charities survive on the people's donations. Not every charity is big and successful, like goodwill, and would go bankrupt if you didn't give your money. 7.6 million people die a year from cancer, a year! This could greatly decrease if you everyone just donate some sum of money a year. There are many more cases why you should donate to charities, read on to find out why.
Why donate to animal shelters?
"Every year in the U.S., more than 6 million lost, abandoned, or unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters," saids PETA. Do you have a pet, maybe pets, when you see a stray what do you do? These pets are just like your dog, cat, pig, turtle, or lizard. They give you all their love and trust you to love them back, but people will move and leave their animals behind, breaking the fragile trust like glass. Many shelters can't hold all the animals in the world, so after several weeks they "put them to sleep" or euthanize animals, which is a fancy word for kill them. "Each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats)," saids PETA. When an animal is euthanized because they are abandoned and forgotten it is because people don't care about their dog's loyalty or a cat's kindness. If you give any sum of money these shelters will be able to take care of animals longer and will be able to buy more storage so they can hold more animals. If it was your pet what would you do?
Why donate to cancer facilities?
Cancer is also known as malignant tumor. Which is a group of diseases that cause abnormal cell growth, that has the capability of spreading to other parts of our bodies. 12.6 million people a year discover they have cancer, of that 12.6, 7.6 million people die of their cancer. That means that you have a 60% chance of dying, and only a 40% chance of surviving cancer. Out of that 60% 100,000 children die a year from cancer, but you could change this. If you donate to a cancer hospital or to cancer reseaches you can help people just like you survive and find a cure for cancer. Without proper funds cancer researches can't find a cure for cancer, they need money from you so that others don't perish from this deadly disease. Even though a cure may be in reach, we don't have one yet, others are suffering from cancer and they need your help to survive it. If you had cancer wouldn't you want the same help?
Why donate to food banks?
Everyday 21,000 people die from starvation, that means 7 million 665 thousand people die a year from starvation. Have you eaten today? These people haven't. Thousands of people die a year, because most likely, unlike you they have to eat whatever they find on the streets. You pass these people everyday being disgusted by people that are just looking for someone to help. Buying a few cans of food can make a huge difference. Food banks allow starving people to come and get a decent meal. If you don't have food to donate, you can give any sum of money, and the food banks will take that that money and buy more storage, so that they can buy more storage for food and even buy some more food. When you throw away food, people who are starving would love to have that much food for dinner. Next time you need food you'll expect the same kindness that you give to people.
Why donate to homeless shelters?
In the world their are 100 million adults are homeless, and their are 100 million children homeless children in the world. Because these children don't have warm houses and safe food and water 250,000 die every week from disease. These children don't experience happiness, they don't know what it feels like to receive a gift or even kindness. It doesn't have to be this way, if you just give some amount of money, to even the smallest of homeless shelters we can make a difference. Donate so that homeless shelter and children orphanages can buy new clothes, and more beds so they can take in more people. You can donate old clothes, toys even blankets to homeless shelter so that even the homeless experience kindness and so homeless children can have toys to play. They need your help, the fortunate help so they can live lives just like ours. Wouldn't you want the same kindness?
Those numbers numbers don't lie. A wise man once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi. That means if you wish to see the numbers decrease you need to be the change. You need to be the one that goes to charities and give money, food, and clothes. You get in what you put out. The more you put in, the more change you will see. The kindness that you expect from others is the kindness that you need to give to them first. Change this world so those numbers do lie.
